Our company advertises thousands of products online. We hope to revamp our social media marketing to attract more customers.

We would like to work with students to design a new social media marketing campaign for our company.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Familiarizing themselves with our company’s products, social media campaign goals and target market.
  • Identifying social media channels and strategies suitable for our company.
  • Planning types of campaign content to create for each channel.
  • Identifying metrics to monitor throughout the campaign.
  • Creating a social media content calendar that outlines important steps in the campaign.

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

  • Recommending social media management tools to schedule our content.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Understanding of our company’s products and goals
  • Identification of suitable social media channels and strategies
  • Identification of types of campaign content to create
  • Identification of metrics to monitor the campaign’s success
  • Creation of a social media content calendar to organize the campaign

Bonus steps would include:

  • Recommending social media management tools

Final deliverables should include

  • A final report with a social media content calendar.
  • A 10-minute presentation.
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Our current products and social media marketing
  • Our customer and industry insights
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.

The Africa Ubuntu Association (AUA) is a dynamic, not-for-profit art community organization, deeply rooted in the rich cultural ethos of Africa. Located on the Unceded Syilx Territory, AUA's mission is to cultivate a vibrant community in the greater Okanagan area. It serves as a nurturing space for Africans, those of African descent, and anyone with an interest in African culture. At the heart of AUA's philosophy is the African concept of Ubuntu - 'I am because you are.' This philosophy emphasizes the importance of community, where each individual is encouraged to shine, contributing to a collective brilliance rather than standing alone.

AUA's mission is multifaceted:

Fostering Community Through Art: AUA leverages the power of art to bring people together, celebrating African culture and its diverse expressions.
Connecting Africans in the Diaspora: It aims to be a connecting point for Africans living and studying abroad, building bridges across continents.
Promoting Intercultural Exchange: By encouraging interactions among various cultures, AUA enhances mutual understanding and respect.
Advocating for Diverse Activities: The organization champions artistic, educational, social, recreational, charitable, and athletic initiatives that reflect the interests of its members.
Documenting Lived Experiences: Recognizing the importance of history, AUA is committed to documenting the present experiences of Africans as future historical records.
The vision of AUA is to create public spaces that embody community support and inclusivity, addressing community needs in innovative ways.
